Eric Hornung joined RKCA in 2019 as an Associate. Eric works with the leadership and boards of RKCA’s direct investment companies and in RKCA’s M&A advisory practice. In both capacities, Eric is responsible for creating financial valuation models and analyses; conducting financial, industry, and buyer research; and assisting corporate executives on strategy.

Eric began his career at Duff & Phelps in Chicago and New York City. At Duff & Phelps, he worked in large-scale corporate and municipal bankruptcy advisory as a corporate financial advisor; supported financial damages expert witnesses in litigation; co-founded the firm’s cryptocurrency advisory practice; and, was promoted quickly from Analyst to Vice President. Eric has experience working in China, the Caribbean, and the Middle East.

Eric is a graduate of Ohio State University’s Fisher College of Business with a BSBA in Finance and Economics and a minor in Chinese. Eric has passed Level I of the CFA and is a Certified Bitcoin Professional. Eric also co-hosts a Fortune Top Business Podcast about startups outside of Silicon Valley called upside and has executive produced an award-winning documentary called “Test City, USA.”
