RKCA, Inc. provided sell-side advisory to Two Sons Imports, LLC, owner of Cantera Negra Tequila (“Cantera”), a leading ultra-premium tequila company to Deutsch Family Wine & Spirits (“DFWS”).  The transaction closed in November 2022.

After nearly a decade of searching for the identity of a masterful distiller, Lance Gildner founded Cantera in 2015, with Mike Joseph joining the team shortly thereafter. Since its introduction to the market in 2017, Cantera Negra has received awards for all its flagship products, and has expanded significantly across the United States. Cantera’s success is rooted in its proprietary distilling process for handcrafting each batch of its award-winning tequilas. 

Cantera was acquired by DFWS, founded in 1981 to market quality wines produced by prestigious families from major wine regions of the world. In 2009, it announced the expansion of the award-winning company to include a spirits portfolio. Today the company is renowed for its brand-building prowess and its ability to meet the needs of the modern consumer. The spirits portfolio includes Redemption Whiskey, Bib & Tucker Bourbon, Masterson’s Rye, Luksusowa Vodka, and Gray Whale Gin.
